SAO MIGUEL, (São Miguel) is the largest island. Visitors can fly direct from Toronto (aprox 5.5 hrs) into Ponta Delgada, the largest city in the archipelago.
Also called “The Green Island,” it probably has the most to offer, allowing guests to see the entire island and its entire diverse scenery in ideally 7-10 day stay. Along the cobble stone streets, visitors have an array of options- shopping, nightly entertainment and ocean-front cafe’s line the modern marina. Alternatively, for those wanting to take the most out of the beautiful lakes, sandy beaches, lush vegetation, and blue ocean there are a plethora of excursions from minimum activity, to high-adrenalin seeking adventure tours.
