FURNAS DAY TOUR – Full Day
Your journey begins by passing the village of Lagoa and the viewpoint of Caloura. Stop at Vila Franca (first capital of the island) for historical visit and coffee break. Then onto Furnas. As you will have already learnt, the Azores islands are of volcanic origin and nowhere is this more apparent than at the basin of Furnas where you will see mud cauldrons, fumaroles and hot rocks, and where your Tour guide will cook your lunch! That’s right, inside the volcano, the boiling water of the fumarole (an opening emerging from base of the volcano) acts like a crock-pot and slow-cooks your hearty meal in approximately 6 hrs. People from the community such as restaurant cooks, and tour guides bring the ingredients in a pot at sunrise to drop it in and then dig it up at noon for lunch. Enjoy this one of a kind experience! After lunch visit to the botanical garden (possibility to swim in a natural hot water swimming pool), and mineral water springs. Crossing to the north coast, stop at the tea plantation on the way, stop at Santa Iria viewpoint, return to Ponta Delgada.

SETE CIDADES & LAGOA DO FOGO – Full Day Tour
Departure from Ponta Delgada to Fajã de Baixo to visit the pineapple plantations, where the pineapples are grown in hot houses that create a perfect environment with the appropriate temperature for the plants to grow. The journey goes on to the viewpoint “Vista do Rei”. Descent to the valley of Sete Cidades on the crater ground, passing by the green and blue lakes. Continue by the “Carvão” lake. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant. The trip follows to Ribeira Grande for a short stop at the town. Continue in direction of “Lagoa do Fogo”. Before arriving to the top of the mountain, short stop at Caldeira Velha. Stop to admire the magni cent view of the “Lagoa do Fogo” (Fire Lake), the one lake in the island in which you encounter nature in a pure state and view of the island at an altitude of 900m. Return to Ponta Delgada.

NORDESTE – Full Day Tour
Departure from Ponta Delgada towards the eastern part of the island. Stop at the viewpoint of Santa Iria for a view of the island’s north coast. Continue along the north coast, stopping at the Ribeira dos Caldeirões where they can meet one of the still existing water mills on the island and the refreshing cascade of Ribeira dos Caldeirões. Continue along the north coast towards to the village of Nordeste. Short stop in the village. Continue to Forest Park of Cinzeiro and visit the Environmental Interpretation Center of the Azorean Bull nch. Picnic in the forest park. Return by the east coast with stops in Ponta da Madrugada viewpoint and the town of Povoação. Short stop at the crater lake of Furnas to stretch your legs and return to Ponta Delgada.
